Global citizenship education is the main objective of our work and our activities in the world. A complex world in which the global and the local are intertwined, in which the local implementation of the sustainable development goals are the only approach that allows us to face global crises and ephocal phenomena such as migration, the pandemic and the subsequent growth of inequalities and climate change. Only a correct framing of territorial activities in a global perspective can give rise to an awareness of our environment in an ecological, social and economic way, in order to redesign together new paths that can impart concreteness to the 2030 Agenda and the sustainable developments goals, making sense of them and bringing them closer to people’s lives. The choice of having our location in Carchitti, a small fraction of Palestrina, is part of this approach that puts education at the center, the only concrete means with which building the fundations for a real, durable and transformative change.
THE AGENDA 2030

The Agenda 2030 represents our reference framework through which we act and plan at local, national, and international level. The 2030 agenda for sustainable development is an action program for people, planet and prosperity that was signed in September 2015 by the governments of 193 UN member countries. It involves 17 Development Goals (SDGs) into a large action program for a complex of 169 targets.
At the beginning of 2016 there was the official launch of this Sustainable Development Goals, that pointed to the world the way to go over the next 15 years: the countries have committed to achieving them by 2030.

“The essential elements of the 2030 Agenda are the 17 Development Goals and the 169 sub-goals associated with them, which are grouped into five fundamental principles such as people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership. The 2030 Agenda aims, for example, to guarantee the well being of all people, economic development, environmental protection, addressing aspects such as peace, the rule of law and good governance, which are essential for promoting sustainable development. Implementation of the Agenda through partnership is enshrined as the fifth principle.”
The Development Goals follow up on the results of the Millennium Development Goals that preceded them, and represent common goals on a set of important development issues, for example: the fight against poverty, the elimination of hunger problem and the fight against climate change.

In the context of the 2030 Agenda, the social economy represents a great challenge that many companies globally are already facing to combine economic, social and environmental sustainability. Social and environmental justice, together with the production of goods and services, are inseparable elements of a strategy that wants to implement and gives action to the SDGs, promoting those experiences that co-generate products, wealth, but also dignity, inclusion and protection of environment, also favoring a new idea of territorial welfare that aims at human promotion regardless of their limits.
Among the countries in the world, Italy has certainly a greater and consolidated experience and a ten years' knowledge in the field of civil economy, thanks also to our social fabric in which the third sector and the world of cooperation have distant origins and are fundamental elements of our community.
The challenges of the future cannot ignore the current dramatic contradictions of the capitalist system and the imbalances it has generated in terms of concetration of wealth and inequalities, environmental devastation and biodiversity.
The social and the environmental impact is fundamental as and more than GDP, and requires a new political maturity and entrepreneurial responsibility, such as co-responsibility towards the community which becomes the new element of an economy that becomes civil.
